The EPSF filter is not contained in the Cumulus application anymore. Supplying it as a separate file enables us to update it more easily as new additions to the EPS format become common.
The EPSF filter now also supports the DCS (Desktop Color Separation) and ICS (Intelligent Color Separation) extensions of the EPS format. Cumulus will only catalog the image file itself, not the separated files belonging to it. This prevents redundant information in the catalog and cuts down on clutter.
Cumulus also supports the Helios OPI server: When cataloging an image folder residing on the server, Cumulus does not catalog the low-resolution ﾒ.layﾓ files created by the server for each EPSF file. Instead only the original high-resolution file is cataloged, thereby avoiding duplication. To speed up cataloging, however, the low-resolution file is used to create the thumbnail. The PageMaker and QuarkXPress Cumulus adapters also place the ﾒ.layﾓ file which the OPI server automatically replaces with the high-resolution version at print time.
The dialog displaying type-specific information for EPSF files now looks a little different, too:

Most of the dialog remains unchanged from the previous version covered in the manual, except as follows.
EPSF Version: If the file is a DCS or ICS file, this is noted after the version number.
Placed Files: If any files have been placed into the EPSF file, these are noted a scrollable list.
